Fundraising for Change.
I've worked with large, national nonprofits with multimillion-dollar budgets, and I've worked alongside smaller organizations operating on less than $300,000 a year. And honestly? There's something special about the smaller ones. They are small, but boy are they mighty.
They're the organizations that show up for their neighbors, fill gaps in their communities, and make a meaningful difference in people's everyday lives. They often do some of the most important work with the fewest resource, and I believe they deserve access to the same thoughtful fundraising strategies and development expertise as organizations with much bigger budgets.
I’ve always considered myself scrappy and resourceful.
During one job interview, I used those exact words to describe myself, only to later learn that the person who referred me for the position had described me the same way. I know how to make the most of what’s available, find creative solutions, and build meaningful results without needing an endless budget or a large team.
That mindset is at the heart of Jamie West Consulting. I started this journey to make comprehensive, affordable fundraising and development support accessible to the nonprofits that need it most, especially the small, community-rooted organizations doing incredible work with limited resources. Because making a difference shouldn’t depend on the size of your budget.
Data backed and relationship focused to create and steward relationships that last.
Great fundraising is about more than asking for donations. It's about helping people understand why a mission matters, showing them the difference their support makes, and building relationships that last.
My approach combines data-driven strategy with thoughtful, ethical storytelling and genuine donor engagement. From re-engaging lapsed donors and strengthening stewardship to developing compelling fundraising appeals, I help nonprofits connect with supporters in ways that are meaningful, transparent, and aligned with their values.
My experience includes:
Direct mail and email fundraising: Developing campaigns that connect compelling messaging with thoughtful audience targeting, with direct mail response rates of 3–6% and a focus on strong returns.
Donor stewardship and growth: Building lasting donor relationships, including helping annual donors grow into five-figure supporters.
Lapsed donor re-engagement: Reconnecting with past supporters, rebuilding relationships, and creating opportunities for them to renew their connection to a mission.
Ethical fundraising and storytelling: Sharing authentic, respectful stories that honor the dignity and experiences of the people and communities nonprofits serve—without sacrificing accuracy or integrity.
Grant writing and development strategy: Helping organizations communicate their impact, identify funding opportunities, and build a more sustainable fundraising program.
My focus is especially close to home: the 413, the community I call home, and the local nonprofits working every day to make it a better place to live. I believe you don't need a multimillion-dollar budget or a full-time development department to make a million-dollar difference. You need the right support, a strategy that fits your organization, and a partner who understands both the numbers and the mission.
My goal is simple: to help local nonprofits thrive, strengthen the communities they serve, and make the greatest possible impact right here at home.
Rooted in the 413. Backing the people who make it better.
Let's grow something good together.
